The kneeler crew is now working on repadding the kneelers.
The asbestos removal process is expected to be completed by the end of this week.
Once the abatement is finished, all temporary protective measures will be removed, providing us with a clean and safe space to continue our work.
Special thank you to Select Van & Storage, Tom Van Haute and crew and all the Church volunteers that were involved in making the pew and kneeler removal a success. It was a hot, humid day and everyone worked together to help out.

St. Bernadette Church Renovation Begins Aug. 4
The contractor has been hired (Leuder Construction), permits have been secured, plans have been finalized, materials have been ordered, and the crew is ready. Renovation of the interior of St. Bernadette Church will officially begin on Monday, Aug. 4.
Where Will We Attend Mass During the Renovation?
Beginning the weekend of Aug. 9–10, all St. Bernadette weekend Masses — Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m. — will be held at Holy Ghost Church (52nd and Q Street) for the duration of the renovation.
As construction begins, the parish communities of St. Bernadette and Holy Ghost will come together to celebrate all weekend Masses at Holy Ghost Church. To mark this important occasion, the Hospitality Committee has organized special “Meet and Greet” events following each Mass the weekend of Aug. 9–10.
Weekend Meet and Greet Schedule:
Saturday, Aug. 9 — 5 p.m. Mass:
Join us after Mass in the Holy Ghost Social Hall for a Wine and Charcuterie Party. Adults will enjoy wine, charcuterie, and an icebreaker game, while children are invited to enjoy hot dogs and a specially designed activity corner.
Sunday, Aug. 10 — 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Masses:
Celebrate with us at a Breakfast Party in the Social Hall, featuring cinnamon rolls, coffee and juice. This is a wonderful opportunity to make new connections within our parish family.
Each attending family will receive a small gift and be entered into a drawing for one of three prizes:
š A charcuterie basket with wine
š A charcuterie board
š A gift certificate to Stoysich Meats
We appreciate your patience and prayers during this exciting season of renewal!
